Our visual identity
Choosing an institution's visual identity is crucial for brand recognition. The University of Ottawa's visual identity must take into account our reputation, history as well as our unique characteristics: national reach, innovative teaching and research initiatives, bilingual nature and the location in the heart of Canada's capital.
The new visual identity, not only needs to set us apart from other institutions, but also must reinforce our values. Our identity also needs to be relevant to internal and external audiences in order to enhance the recognition of our brand.
Following a rigorous selection process, a new identity was adopted and visual identity standards were developed.
In order to encourage a consistent application of the visual identity and to promote a strong, cohesive visual brand, we have developped templates. They are flexible enough to reflect the individual nature of the different campus units while retaining a strong visual brand that will automatically be associated with the University of Ottawa.
